Feathers

Project type

Lobby installation

Date

March 2025

Location

Bangkok

An exploration of spatial transformation—demonstrating how a thoughtful interplay of Forms and light can profoundly redefine an environment, both visually and emotionally.
The vertical void of a hotel lobby is enhanced by a sequence of 4-meter-long feathers, creating a light sculpture that introduces rhythm, scale, and movement.
Feathers carry significant symbolism across various cultures, often embodying lightness, ascension, freedom, and transformation. In a spatial context, they suggest movement without force and presence without weight.

By scaling them up to architectural proportions, the installation invites contemplation on the tension between mass and lightness, demonstrating how ethereal forms can enhance the space in a subtle and graceful manner.

Each feather, crafted from ultra-light aluminum and covered in printed eco friendly fabric, merges sustainability with ease of installation, resulting in a system that is both efficient and expressive.

The light sculpture is illuminated by hanging directional spotlights, creating a dialogue between structure, lightness, and atmosphere.
